Description:
This is a hands on studio knitting class and open to students of all disciplines. Projects are arranged around studio time to develop swatches and form studies directed by a series of 4 briefs throughout the semester. The objective is for students to learn how to use the knitting machines, and how to transform sources of inspiration into creative knit structures. Students will learn by doing, including fiber and yarn characteristics, basic knitting techniques and exploratory development, stitch calculations for pattern building, knit finishing techniques, designing knit series/collections, and rendering and presenting knits.
