Description:
This is a studio knitting class. Projects are arranged around studio time to develop swatches and form studies directed by a series of 4 briefs throughout the semester. The objective is for students to learn how to use the knitting machines, and how to transform sources of inspiration into creative knit structures. Students will learn by doing, including fiber and yarn characteristics, basic knitting techniques and exploratory development, stitch calculations for pattern building, knit finishing techniques, designing knit collections, and rendering and presenting knits.
