Description:
This course supports junior-level students to develop a more editorial portfolio and to strengthen technical digital flat skills necessary for attaining professional internships and positions. This class is a pre requisite for Fashion Illustration 4, the Senior-level Portfolio class.Visual communication/portfolio: May Liang [Thursday, 4pm-7pm]In this section of fashion Illustration 3, students build critical compositional and tactile skills to present concepts, figurative and technical digital flat work with compelling and distinctive points of view. Instructional emphasis will be on building a tactile portfolio from work developed in Fashion design 1-3, and presenting ongoing work in compelling and unique formats. This is particularly important as students explore concepts in sustainability studio that fall outside traditional fashion parameters and expectations. Building a digital website is also an outcome of this section of the class. Technical digital flats: Lamarr Nanton [Thursday, 7-10pm]With knowledge of garment design and construction and with acquired introductory digital skills, students bring their 2D technical work to a more advanced level. Instructional emphasis will be on strengthening digital flats, accurately capturing the fit and attitude in garments, and communicating construction, proportions, details and trims to a professional standard. Building a professional tech pack is also an outcome of this part of the class.At the end of this course, students will have a tactile portfolio and website to use for professional interviews and will have acquired making skills to support the Fashion Illustration/Visual Communication 4 Senior-level Portfolio class.This course is required for Fashion Illustration/Visual Communication 4 Senior-level Portfolio class.Pre-Requisites and Co-Requisites: FASHN 2080 - Fashion Illustration 1 and FASHN 2120 - Fashion Illustration 2
