Description:
Senior level Fashion majors who have completed prerequisite drawing, design and studio courses participate in this final design/illustration course. The course's goal is the development and execution of an organized and professional level series of well developed and illustration fashion collections and accompanying technical illustration work. This course combines design and illustration skills developed in Fashion Illustration 1-3 and Fashion Design 1-4 focusing on individual design aesthetic and expression readying students for Instruction emphasis is on presentation, composition, color and rendering techniques. The students will be exposed to the work of master fashion illustrators including, Antonio Lopez, Tony Viramontes, and Rene Gruau as well as reviewing/researching iconic fashion brands. Students will be expected express their design aesthetic with a complementary illustration style. Exit criteria is a body of cohesive design work originally illustrated collections with appropriate technical support materials and a designer information package. Participation in the Spring Portfolio Review with a completed portfolio is one of the final professional practice steps for the fashion design senior.
