Description:
Students explore the language of animation by combining traditional animation techniques such as paper cut out animation or flip book animation with digital motion graphic processes. While this course includes technical lessons in motion graphics and animation, the main focus of the course lies on developing each student's personal approach to the use of this medium. Students are encouraged to present their animated works in multiple formats, from multi channel projections, to sculptural film installations and animations in public spaces. A look at the global history of avant-garde animation from the early twentieth century to today accompanies hands-on work.
