Description:

The sequence of Exhibitions 1 and Exhibitions 2, along with Thesis 1 and Thesis 2, comprises the required coursework in which students develop their final exhibition projects and capstone written thesis. These courses encompass both the preparation and presentation of work in the MFA final exhibition and the researching and writing the thesis. Both projects begin in the penultimate semester and are completed in the student's final semester at CCA. The MFA final exhibition is the capstone presentation of the candidate’s artistic practice.  Exhibitions 2 focuses on the preparation for and presentation of individual MFA exhibition, held in the student’s final semester at CCA. In addition to including the student’s Final Review, in which each student will prepare a solo presentation in their studio, Exhibitions 2 will feature conversations around professional development, including discussions of issues surrounding the public presentation of one’s work, as well as strategies for a sustainable artistic practice after graduate school.The course is expected to meet 22.5 hours in the semester.
