There are two main objectives in the class: one is the thorough immersion into one's own work (with an emphasis on all aspects of exhibition production), and the other will be a class collaboration in proposing, curating, promoting, and hanging of at least one group show off campus. This class is ideal for students who wish to bolster their skills in the business of being an artist: how to cultivate exhibition opportunities, how to develop site-specific installation strategies for their work, how to curate and how to communicate with professional arts organizations outside of school. Students will be expected to work on an ongoing body of work for the entire semester. This course is open to artists working in any media and to all fine arts majors in their 3rd year or above.
