Every academic year, the Furniture Program selects a leading practitioner in the broad field of furniture and wood-based creative practice to join our faculty as the Wornick Visiting Professor.  Studio: Atelier offers students a unique opportunity to learn first-hand the creative processes and professional practices of established creatives from across the country and the world.  An immersive studio experience, this course offers students direct hands-on experience with diverse approaches to materiality, craft, and sustainable creative practices in the setting of the Furniture Studio.In Fall of 2021, Studio Atelier will welcome two Wornick Visiting Professors, Yvonne Mouser and Ido Yoshimoto, whose parallel practices cover a spectrum of sculptural works of furniture to limited production handmade objects. Working alongside the Visiting Professors, students will engage in experimental making both on and off campus in a range of materials and processes.  ** Note that the Visiting Professors will teach two separate sections of the semester. The first half of Fall 2021 will be taught by Yvonne Mouser, and the second half will be taught by Ido Yoshimoto.Any questions about prerequisite overrides should be sent to kl@cca.edu who would happy to talk with students from other majors interested in this course.
