This course teaches a variety of CAD software to create three-dimensional objects produced on an array of digital fabrication tools. It will focus on bringing students up to speed on the latest digital platforms to create working and presentation drawings and learn how to fabricate components on the laser cutter, 3D printers and CNC milling machine. By learning to incorporate powerful parametric and direct 3D modeling techniques early in the design process, students will have the skills to develop complex, accurate, and flexible designs to enhance their craft. Projects involve rapidly producing multiple iterations, photo realistic renderings and physical prototypes and components in a variety of materials. The skills and digital fluently attained in the class are widely applicable in the design, sculpture and engineering fields.
