Description:

Online course sections will be delivered mostly asynchronously, with some synchronous components that will be outlined in the course syllabus if applicable. All class work can be completed remotely, your instructor will work with you to ensure that you have the necessary tools and resources. Interactive Storytelling is a studio focused on the creation of narrative, narrative design, story, story design, character, and worldbuilding within interactive digital and analog game and play forms. Students will explore the theoretical and practical dimensions of creating narratives in time-based interactive media, within both virtual and real environments. Over the semester, the course will apply various theories of classical narrative and interactivity to a series of projects designed to introduce students to the opportunities and specificities of telling stories interactively across a multiplicity of 3D, 4D, hybrid and experimental game mediums.
