Description:
INDIE STUDIO is a production, professional-practice, and portfolio-development studio course in Game Arts. Students will focus on creating portfolio and pre-professional creative assets for Game in an area(s) of specialty and interest that is useful to their present academic and professional goals. INDIE STUDIO is for Game Designers, Game Artists, Game Writers, Narrative Designers, Game Animators, Character Designers, Environment Designers working in digital, table-top, experimental or hybrid forms and mediums.INDIE STUDIO will be run in a semi-professional format, with development teams under supervision of the course instructor, with assignments and goals tailored to each student, their specialty area in Games, and career goals. The course will be structured around students setting goals and benchmarks, developing, producing, and delivering game assets in their chosen area for projects important to their present art practices and future career in Game.Students taking INDIE STUDIO at the 4700 level will work in their senior capstone projects on pre-professional and portfolio assets while developing and refining skills in their specialization areas. Students taking INDIE STUDIO at the 2700/3700 will focus on a series of projects that will develop skills in their speciality and add to their pre-professional portfolio.
