Description:
When surveyed last year, design professionals listed their highest concerns as 1) adapting to technological and social change and 2) cross-functional and multi-disciplinary designs skills. Students can prepare for these problems in two ways either learning each new technology that comes along (design systems, AR, VR, MR, AI, etc.) or by focusing on core skills that supersede trends. This is a course about the latter: building futureproof creative skills for infinite adaptability. Together, we will practice drills that teach you how to think more creatively and thrive in spontaneous problem-solving for interviews, new roles, and career changes. You’ll learn research-proven ways of reframing problems into more effective prompts, how to see objects in new ways that make you more inventive, how to empathize more deeply with audiences, and how to teach yourself new skills long after your time at CCA.
