Description:
Explore the conceptual and practical skills needed for Sound in Film and Animation. For those with more experience in sound, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of sound and work with their current film projects or make new work. For those who are fresh to sound, you will acquire the practical skills needed for successful sound design, recording and editing. You will actively collaborate with peers, working closely across various media, including sound design, Foley, recording, and soundscape creation. This hands-on approach allows you to engage fully with the art of crafting original music and soundscapes. Whether working on your film projects or exploring sound design to apply it in your work, this class will give you the much needed experience and confidence - helping you ‘think’ sound alongside image, and not as an afterthought. By the end of this course, you will have both the expertise and the confidence to design and produce compelling sound for animation and film. This course is open to film and animation students who have not taken a sound class before or Animation Students have taken the 3000 Level Sound for Animation.
