Description:
This graduate seminar engages students in the groundbreaking work of a diverse cross-section of contemporary film, video and interdisciplinary artists through our fall film lecture series. Throughout the semester, students will attend presentations by contemporary film directors and visual artists working with moving images. These presentations will be followed by seminar style discussion and brief assignments. This is an opportunity to delve into contemporary practices in film, video art, experimental film and moving image through close examination and discussion of specific works and artists working at the forefront and intersection of today's film and art worlds. This is an online course.
- Online course sections will be delivered mostly asynchronously, with some synchronous components that will be outlined in the course syllabus if applicable. All class work can be completed remotely, your instructor will work with you to ensure that you have the necessary tools and resources.
