Description:
This graduate seminar engages students in the groundbreaking work of a diverse cross-section of contemporary film, video, and interdisciplinary artists through our fall film lecture series. Throughout the semester, students will attend presentations by contemporary film directors and visual artists working with moving images. These presentations will be followed by seminar-style discussions and brief assignments. This is an opportunity to delve into contemporary practices in film, video art, experimental film, and moving images through close examination and discussion of specific works and artists working at the forefront and intersection of today's film and art worlds.
