Description:
Advanced Design Studios support the complex and expanding role of today's Graphic Designer. These studios provide deep exploration within a specific arena to help students further define their own methodologies. Courses are proposed by faculty and cover 2D, 3D, and 4D categories. Studio options may vary from semester to semesterCourse Section Details:In this course, students will put design skills to use addressing real-world challenges that impact San Francisco residents. We’ll explore the emerging discipline of Service Design through a unique partnership with Glide, a community-based organization “dedicated to fighting systemic injustices, creating pathways out of poverty and crisis, and transforming lives.”Working individually and collaboratively, we’ll take a holistic approach to identifying needs and opportunities for Glide and its clientele, creating a vision for services that meet those needs, and designing and piloting culturally relevant interventions. You’ll expand your design toolkit by learning and applying a wide variety of methods to explore, define, and communicate your service experiences end-to-end.
