Description:
Cultural interest in zines, artist books, podcasts, image macros, and other forms of personal publication is at an all-time high. In this class, we will do two things: We will conceive and make our own such publications, start to finish. And to inform and inspire our work, we will take a close look at the rich history and ever-expanding variety of these forms. Students will practice, get playful with, and think critically about every step of the process-from concept, to content & form creation, to editing, production, and distribution. We'll work fast and slow, analog and digital, alone and in groups, aim to surprise ourselves, and pick up new skills along the way.
