Description:

Through a variety of assignments this course focuses on the design elements used in creating effective images. Students learn about color theory and advanced composition. They experiment with value structure, shape, line, pattern, and texture and apply it to narrative and metaphorical solutions. Basic visual art business practices such as markets, valuation, intellectual property and billing will also be covered. This course will help students learn to find new and clear ways to communicate their individual vision within the constraints of an illustration practice.

Hybrid course sections will be delivered both in-person and online. Online portions will be delivered with both asynchronous and synchronous components that will be outlined in the course syllabus.
