Description:
This course will build on the skills developed in DC3 & DC4, and will demystify what is commonly known of in the automotive industry as “Class A” surfacing. The class is focused on how the tools and techniques of this type of modeling can be applied to the field of Industrial Design. Throughout the semester, students will explore new softwares and methodologies to create advance forms and surface applications in a variety of software platforms, leveraging these tools to create exciting new work and to advance their portfolio skills and abilities.
Investigative Studios are courses designed to provide insight into a specific workflow or media practice. Often these studios are a collaborations with other programs at the college, where students will get a focused exploration into a making practice through the lens of design and fabrication. Investigative Studios are open to students of Junior standing, and intended to advance their skills and develop work to help set their portfolio apart.
