Description:
In this course, students will put design skills to use addressing real-world challenges that impact San Francisco residents. We’ll explore the emerging discipline of Service Design through a unique partnership with Glide, a community-based organization “dedicated to fighting systemic injustices, creating pathways out of poverty and crisis, and transforming lives.”Working individually and collaboratively, we’ll take a holistic approach to identifying needs and opportunities for Glide and its clientele, creating a vision for services that meet those needs, and designing and piloting culturally relevant interventions. You’ll expand your design toolkit by learning and applying a wide variety of methods to explore, define, and communicate your service experiences end-to-end.
