In this class, we’ll learn how to write science fiction, fantasy and horror, as well as great prose, characters we care about, worlds we want to get lost in, and plots that grip and don’t let go. We’ll explore the history and critical languages of genre fiction, do all sorts of generative writing and revision exercises, and become better readers, writers and critics of each other’s work.Texts:
Ursula K. Le Guin, Steering the Craft: A 21st-Century Guide to Sailing the Sea of Story.
