Description:
The Special Techniques courses help students to deepen their understanding of a specific subject matter or technique related to the field of Metalsmithing and Jewelry. Students make multiple studies and are encouraged to experiment with the technique at hand. The Jewelry/Metal Arts program offers four different Special Technique courses
which rotate every other year and by demand. The courses are: Casting, Color on Metal, Holloware, and Production.Speciality Course: Production METAL 208-01SECTION DESCRIPTION: This class is designed to develop three aspects of your artistry that will be critical to your future success: your design skills, your technical abilities and the professional practices of being an artist. Special emphasis will be placed on making wearable objects but the goals of working quickly, efficiently and purposefully are relevant to anyone who wishes to make art professionally. Basic business skills and knowledge of commercial resources and processes, along with aspects of establishing your own studio practice will all be covered. Additional materials fee will be charged.
