Adjunct II Professor, Jewelry and Metal Arts Program
Description:
Production jewelry consists of cohesive collections—such as necklaces, earrings, rings, and other pieces—designed for ease of reproduction. Through demonstrations, discussions, assignments, and critiques, you will develop the technical and professional skills needed to create cohesive collections, make multiples efficiently, and present your work to a commercial audience. You will explore techniques ranging from low-tech pattern making to specialized processes, including casting and laser cutting. Using these approaches, you will create multiples and develop them into a thoughtful, unified line of wearable jewelry. You will also learn about setting up a studio, starting a business, and pricing.
