Description:
This course introduces students to industry standard techniques used in the production of digital photography. And will explore the communicative possibilities of digital prints and applications of the still image.Students will learn advanced digital capture, analog capture for scanning, digitization of analog film and proper color and file management. An emphasis will be placed on Adobe Photoshop but Capture One, VueScan, Flexcolor and other software will be used as needed. Students will have the opportunity to make exhibition quality color and black and white inkjet prints and explore printing on a variety of different papers at varying scales including large format prints. We will also explore other printing techniques including risographic prints and making digital negatives for analog printing. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have created a final portfolio that is the culmination of everything learned demonstrating an understanding of how digital photography and its techniques integrate into the realm of fine art photography.
