Description:
A hybrid course in painting fundamentals emphasizing techniques, approaches, materials, composition, color, surface, etc., as applied to both abstract and realistically drawn forms. This is a structured course, and students will be expected to work in oil and/or acrylic media and sustanability will be emphisised. Problem-solving exercises will be assigned. Slide presentations, museum visits, and critiques as appropriate. Open to all students. This hybrid class includes both in-person and virtual teaching methods. Virtual and in-person demos will be presented. Asynchronous material and homework will be structured through moodle. Critiques, sharing of work, artist visits, and student presentations will be provided through a combination of virtual and in-person approaches and techniques.
