Students are expected to participate in, and value, constructive critique. All students are expected to share insights, explorations and questions during class discussion. Students will learn how to research, explore, and articulate an artistic project. Students will define a contextual framework and vocabulary for talking about their work as well as resolve formal and technical issues in their practice. The results of one project should lend momentum and continuity to the work that follows. Students will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in documenting their work for the purpose of putting together a portfolio as well as writing an accompanying artist's statement.
