Description:
This course will introduce students to the basics of letterpress printing. Students will learn the fundamentals of typesetting and press lock-up, printing, ink mixing, color registration, and the basics of press mechanics. Students will have the opportunity to work on individual projects as well as collaborate on projects with other students. The content of this course will be especially of interest to students of the Graphic Design and Printmaking Programs. This course fulfills an open studio elective. This class will be meeting off-campus at San Francisco Center for the Book, 375 Rhode Island Street, San Francisco CA 94103.
