Description:
Students will spend the first half of the semester honing their technical abilities in screen printing, creating a series of original prints in multiple colors in small editions. The various methods of creating film positive: hand drawn, cut masking film, or digital output are demonstrated and explored. During the second half of the semester, students will work with the medium to challenge the extent to which they can use screen printing to inform their own personal art and design work at times working with non-traditional means and applications towards a final project. Examples of final projects range from larger scale printed editions, books, design projects and sculptural work utilizing screen printing. Additional materials fee will be charged.
