Description:
It's there-beneath the roll of the casino die, in the flash of the arcade screen, where foot meets ball, between synapses in the brain of a chess champion, on the face of the bluffing cardplayer, in and within all the playing and all the gaming -a world of science, chemistry, and math at play beneath the surface. In this course we will explore, as scientists and ludologists, how we can come to understand the hidden world of numbers, chemicals, and physical forces that inform our world of gaming and play, and how we can turn this understanding to expand our practices as artists, designers, and players of the complex worlds we study and navigate.
