Have you ever wanted to push beyond the boundaries of your chosen program and weave those ideas into your own work? Or felt drawn to multiple practices that together express who you are? Do you want tailored guidance to help you find and articulate your unique creative voice? This course is for you.In this studio-focused class, you’ll embrace an interdisciplinary approach to art and design that breaks down barriers and connects your creative practice to a wide range of media, forms, themes, and issues within and beyond the arts. This mindset sharpens critical thinking, enhances complex problem-solving, and prepares you for generative, collaborative, and innovative careers in the real-world moving forward.You will embark on a focused investigation that excavates your personal interests, histories, and communities in an effort to develop a creative approach that you can confidently call your “true voice.” Through personalized support with practical skills and conceptual ideation, you’ll produce an interdisciplinary project that lives beyond a single field or program area. With highly individualized mentoring, you’ll experiment with combining knowledge, tools, materials, and methods from different disciplines to forge a distinctive body of work in conversation with a community of peers pursuing their own unique paths.
