Description:
In On Being Blue, William Gass suggests, “Of all the colors, blue has the widest range of associations, and the widest bandwidth of emotional tints and shades. It is therefore the most suitable color of interior life.” Practice writing descriptive, expository, narrative, and analytical essays, inspired by reading fiction, philosophy, poetry, psychology, and the world itself as a kind of “text.” Research, reading, nature, art, and architecture serve as prompts for conversation, literary and visual analysis, creative and critical writing, and making art.
