Description:
A workshop for writers, artists and makers telling stories across culture and medium. Students may generate new work or bring work-in-progress for feedback. Sample approaches include Arts activism, Visual storytelling, Documentary poetry, Participatory story, Identity & Representation, Social mapping, Food photography, Narrative textiles, as well as traditional literary forms, such as collections of literary nonfiction, poetry, short stories, hybrid forms, or a novel/la. Individualized mentorship will be provided, alongside rigorous critique sessions and salon-style camaraderie. We invite majors in Writing & Literature/Comics, Animation, Community Arts, Fashion Design, Film, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Printmaking, Textiles, and Visual Studies. NOTE: W&L and VS majors will additionally use this course to participate in Junior Review, prepare for Senior Thesis projects, and apply for All-College Honors.
