CCA 2023 FACULTY EXHIBITION – STORIES OF US — FAQ
Are all CCA faculty eligible?
Yes, all Adjunct, Rank, and Tenured faculty who are currently employed at CCA are eligible to participate. Participation is voluntary.
Can staff or students participate in this exhibition?
Due to space limitations, we are unable to expand this exhibition to include artwork by staff or students. However, CCA@CCA Student Fellow, Layla Namak, is collecting voice narratives on the topic of belonging from everyone in the CCA community—staff, faculty, students, and alumni alike. Layla's audio project served as the inspiration for this Faculty Exhibition, and we will feature the narratives she collects within the exhibition itself. You can contribute your own voice narrative to Layla's project via this link.
Will all proposed work be included?
We hope to include as much faculty work as possible. If your work relates to the theme and is within the scope of what is possible to install in the Campus Gallery, it will most likely be included. Please reach out to exhibitions@cca.edu with any questions and we’re happy to work with you.
What do we mean by non-visual work?
We recognize the limitations of this term and mean to imply that we are open to books, printed texts, audio, and all forms of creative production that are possible to support within the context and location of the CCA Campus Gallery.
Do I need to be available to install my own work?
No, Manuel Angeja (Installation Manager) and his team of preparators are available to install this exhibition. If you have particular components you would like to install yourself, this is possible if you coordinate with Manuel, but it is not required.
Does my work need to be from a particular year or timeframe?
No, all completed work related to the theme is eligible for consideration.
Is there funding available to commission new work?
No, unfortunately there is not funding available to commission new work. We recommend submitting already completed work. In special circumstances, we may be able to assist with basic materials needed for installation. We cannot offer help with transport.
Will you cover shipping?
No, we are unable to cover shipping to/from CCA for this exhibition.
Are pedestals and shelves available for display?
Yes. Please get in touch with Manuel Angeja with specific questions about our inventory.
Can I show a book, zine, or writing?
Yes! We will be installing a “Reading Room” for printed material that connects to the stories of us theme.
How many works can I submit?
Due to space constraints we are limiting participation to one artwork per person. Artworks may contain multiple pieces, if appropriate. Just be reasonable. Reach out to exhibitions@cca.edu and we will work with you on the selection.
Do you have monitors for video?
Yes
