CCA@CCA Artwork Campaign
BE A CREATIVE CITIZEN IN ACTION.
We may be physically distant, but it’s still possible for our messages of creative activism to unite. The goal of this campaign is to create dialogue related to civic engagement and democratic participation in the lead-up to Election Day in November. Submissions will be showcased on the Creative Citizens in Action website, and we hope to print as many submissions as possible and display them in public-facing locations, or make them available for small-scale distribution.
Work must be related to creative activism, civic engagement, and/or democratic participation. Topics may include voting, voting rights and access, racial equity, social justice, climate justice, immigrant rights, and more.
We encourage participation across college’s four divisions: Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, and Humanities and Sciences. Collaborative work is welcome. Previous, current, or new work are all accepted.
Deadline: October 4, 2020 at 11:59pm
Eligibility: All CCA students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Encouraged mediums include artwork documentation, graphic design, poster design, digital art, photography, illustration, renderings, and more. We are unable to display work containing profanity, racial slurs, explicit content, or depictions of violence or harm. We ask that content address issues, not specific political candidates.
Applicants may submit up to 3 works. Each applicant will have a minimum of one work included, if they meet the basic requirements. Organizers reserve the right to make final selections.

Rights and reproduction
By submitting work, you certify that you created or have ownership of the work—including the right to distribute stock images and fonts used in your design. You retain the copyright and, if you opt into making your file downloadable, agree to distribute under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License. You grant to CCA the right to use accepted work for reproduction in posters for the Creative Citizens in Action initiative and related publications, exhibitions; on its websites; and for educational noncommercial promotional purposes. Depending on submissions, some may be enlarged to break up the visual aspects of the activation. Pieces will be shown in their full form as you’ve sent them; however, your submission to this exhibition will confirm your acceptance of your work being sized at the discretion of the curators.
Creative Citizens in Action at CCA (CCA@CCA) is a college-wide initiative that promotes creative activism and democratic engagement through public programs, exhibitions, and curriculum connections. This grant opportunity is funded by a new endowment gift to launch The Deborah and Kenneth Novack Creative Citizens Series, an annual series of public programs focused on creative activism that spans the disciplines of art, design, architecture, and writing.
