Graduate Exhibitions & Public Programs Assistant
The CCA Exhibitions Team seeks an individual passionate about contemporary art and writing to lead the production of CCA’s Review Rewind Respond column. RRR’s Lead Editor will work with CCA Exhibitions staff to define the scope, standards, and goals of the publication, and map out a strategic publication schedule. They will be encouraged to identify opportunities to increase readership and engagement, and help develop partnerships with CCA academic programs, student groups, and administrative departments, as well as external communities. In addition, the Lead Editor will be responsible for recruiting writers, illustrators, and other content creators from within the CCA student body, and ushering their work through the editorial process. This includes recommending and commissioning reviews and other written or visual content, working with the Assistant Editor to copy-edit and proofread content, evaluating and approving design proofs, and coordinating with the entire RRR Team to meet tight deadlines. The Lead Editor may also be expected to produce one or two responses to an event or exhibition during the semester.
Qualifications:
- Strong editorial background
- Aptitude for project management
- Previous experience proofreading written text in English and adhering to editorial style guides
- Keen attention to detail and an ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Google Suite (editing tools within Google docs especially)
- Experience in InDesign a plus
Hourly Rate: $23.22.
Hours: 8–12 hours per week on average; hours may vary based on delivery deadlines.
The Graduate Exhibitions & Public Programs Assistant reports to CCA's Gallery Manager.
