Join CCA Animation Events for a visiting artist screening and workshop with San Francisco-based independent animator Cole Montminy. Cole crafts miniature 2D animated scenes, hand-felted and hand stitched into music videos, simmering loops, and short films. Some of their loops are felted frame-by-frame onto the front of sweaters and shirts. Others span across quilt squares. Cole will be screening a selection of recent works including the most recent cut of their thesis film from San Francisco State University where they are a current MFA candidate.

Following the screening, Cole will lead a workshop where participants are invited to make a wearable animation. Participants are invited to bring an old piece of clothing to use as a surface for an animated loop. Shirts, scarves, pants, socks, or sweaters that you are willing to alter or adapt can be used for this workshop.
