Event description

The Practical Prep workshops are a series where students will learn hands-on art installation skills. Our mission is to teach students practical skills they will need as practicing artists, curators and preparators outside of CCA, so that all students feel empowered to problem-solve specific installation concerns around their work and create work and exhibition spaces outside of traditional institutions.

The October 5th workshop intensive is designed to help you learn all the basics of install and deinstall in a single session—think of it as a crash course covering most of the content that will be covered in the following 4 part workshop series. During this four-hour workshop, Installation Manager Manuel Angeja will lead the group through hanging a variety of wall works, preparing and patching holes, mounting monitors, stabilizing works on a pedestal, levelling and measuring for ADA standards, and more!
