Game Arts: Student Experiences

Last updated on Dec 22, 2020

Serious Play

Learning through Play

  • From the first class through their last, CCA's game artists learn through making and playing games. In CCA's Game Arts, BFA work is play, and play is work. And we take play very seriously.
  • Creativity, ingenuity, and problem-solving are central to the Game Arts program. At CCA, Games are also personal and political, and students engage with the real-world, personal experiences, and different cultural perspectives in the development of their games, as well as exploring the fantastical realities that games uniquely provide.
  • Students will have close access to hands-on learning experiences such as internship opportunities with local games industry leaders and a wide variety of visiting artists and lecturers working on the cutting ege
  • Students will have access to CCA's many maker spaces, as well as resources like the libraries' games collection. Events like the virtual games faire provide opportunities for students to showcase their own and view peers' work.
