We recommend students do not bring valuable items to the program.

During class time, students are not allowed to use portable music players, personal laptops, tablets, or other electronic devices of any kind. This is to encourage students to be present and engaging with their peers and instructors.

If students have a cell phone, it must be turned off while classes are in session. Students are welcome to use these devices when not in a classroom or when part of a class activity.

No skateboards or scooters are allowed on campus. We do have secure bicycle parking available for students at 184 Hooper Street, across the the main building.

Attire Guidelines

For safety, all students are required to wear close toed, hard soled shoes. (Please, no Crocs or Uggs!)

Please note that your clothing might also get dirty!

Students should also bring a way to tie back hair if they have long hair.

Software needs for Animation & Comics and Photography & Film

-

In order to ensure your young artists have the best experience possible, we would like to provide some technical guidelines.

Atelier students need access to a valid email account for Animation & Comics and Photography & Film.

To access our full suite of Adobe software, students will need to have an Adobe account that they can log into with a username and password. This will only be used for login purposes, there is no fee involved, and they do not need to purchase any software. Please choose the option that you feel would be best for you and your young artist:

  1. You or your student already has an Adobe Creative Suite account. This login from your personal account can be used at CCA to access the suite of software being used for classes.
  2. You or your student has access to an email account. You can then create a free Adobe account online at www.adobe.com (helpsheet attached). A valid email address is required to verify the account. Some personal information is collected (first name, last name, birth month, birth year). After the account is created and verified, the student will only need access to the Adobe account username (which is the email address used to create the account) and Adobe account password.

If you have any questions about the use of the Adobe account, or are having trouble getting it set up, please reach out to youthprograms@cca.edu and we would be happy to help address any concerns.

Transportation to CCA

-

Public Transportation

CCA partners with Mission Bay TMA to provide the CCA/Adobe Route, which provides direct free shuttle service to CCA from Civic Center Bart Station during peak commute hours, Monday through Friday.

You can find more information about the pick-up and drop-off locations and the schedule on our website.

Biking and Driving

If biking or driving to campus, please refer to our transportation website.

Carpool Coordination for Summer 2025

-

For students who are commuting and families looking to coordinate a carpool, we've created an open access Google Sheet which parent/guardians will enter their contact information and location and is up to parents/guardians to reach out and connect with others in their area.

If you would like to connect with other families carpooling, add your info to the spreadsheet here and you may reach out to each other to form groups.

Attendance Policy

-

Summer Atelier participants are expected to be present for the entire program, barring illness.

The Summer Atelier is an intensive immersion in art, with six hours of instruction daily. Students are expected to arrive on time to all classes.

If an unforeseen event occurs and your artist needs to leave early, please contact us by emailing youthprograms@cca.edu

Absences & Late Arrivals
