International Student Services update on OPT and CCA closure
Posted April 1, 2026, 1:12 PM
Dear CCA families,
CCA's International Student Services (ISS) office has been in direct contact with F-1 students and alumni on OPT or STEM OPT about how CCA's closure affects their status (post-degree completion work authorization benefits).
CCA has secured an agreement with an AICAD member school to take over the administration of SEVIS records for alumni on active OPT at the time of closure. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has confirmed this arrangement meets current policy, meaning work authorization will continue without interruption.
ISS has updated its OPT Portal page and hosted information sessions earlier this month to discuss next steps with students in more detail. Session details were included in the email sent directly to students.
ISS remains your student's official point of contact through closure and the SEVIS transition. Students who do not want their SEVIS record transferred to the AICAD partner school should contact ISS directly to discuss their options.
Visit the Transition FAQs for F-1 Nonimmigrants or contact ISS at iss@cca.edu with questions.
Sincerely,
CCA International Student Services
