Description:

Game Spaces: Making examines and experiments with the use of games to build and to design spatial environments in digital environments. Through segments of play, creation, analysis and research, students will develop spaces or environments within different games The course will begin by leveraging the games of Minecraft, Block'hood and Rust to understand and explore the range of possibilities for building in game environments, to hone our skills at in game making, and to build up a library of knowledge to critique in game environments. The final portion of the class will shift to a new game/tool that is currently in development for immersive spatial design within virtual reality environments.
