Constructed Ecologies will explore locally sourced resources that can be engineered into new biomaterials. Students will research materials and produce a series of experiments that inform speculations about how a design approach can create new ways of building and cohabitation with nature. The work will build upon the Constructed Ecologies series (2018 to 2020) which has evolved out of the Architectural Ecologies Lab research looking at ways to coexist with nature through novel fabrication and material assemblies.
