Description:
Through experimentation, observation, and analysis, students will explore the world of glaze making as it relates to one's visual practice. During the first part of the semester, weekly assignments will build and enhance students? technical foundation. Students will create and experiment with different glaze surface treatments and become familiar with various firing techniques. In the second half of the course, students will use that knowledge base to design a project, and complete a body of work, using glazes specifically formulated for individual projects. Students will be expected to actively participate in discussions, complete assignments, complete a 2-page written assignment, and complete and present individual projects and glaze test results
