Description:
This course takes its prompt from the structure of theatrical productions - bringing together short narratives with prop/costume/set-like sculptural forms to develop new work. We will practice advanced ceramic hand building techniques in tandem with storytelling, performances and oral presentations. Each week we will read or write short stories while learning to hand build quick models and large scale forms. Assignments will require significant self-direction and independent work outside of class time. Readings, lectures and field trips will support classroom discussion and demonstrations. Majors from across all 3D programs are encouraged to enroll.
