Description:
This course explores the related concepts of sustainability and systems thinking in a
contemporary context. Through study, discussion, and criticism of provocative and
visionary viewpoints related to design, ethics, science, and society, students will explore
the precedents, current state, and potential futures of “sustainability” as applied to the
design practice and the design of society at large. Numerous frameworks for
