Description:
This course will examine the process of social and community activism in Latin America focusing in the importance of action to demand change. This class will examine the work of poets, writers, artists, filmmakers and intellectuals who create art while confronting political unrest, economic and social injustices and who use beauty as a strategy to promote consciousness focusing upon the leadership roles of artists working in communities, working collaboratively and those who address in their art concerns of civil and human rights.
