Description:
This course will provide insight and knowledge of the diverse and underrepresented communities that have formed socio-political art in contemporary society. This course will articulate history and methods of mural art i.e. fresco technique, portable murals, and direct wall approaches and techniques. This course also addresses muralism as a social movement, the study of contemporary movements, their historical antecedents, social, economic, cultural and political influences and significance. Of particular interest will be the actual creation of a collaborative mural by student artists.
