Critical Ethnic Studies Seminar are in-depth experiences in the study of multiculturalism and cultural diversity in American society and in societies that have impacted American society. Courses expose students to and inform students about the contributions of African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans and Latinos to American culture, history, and society.SECTION DESCRIPTIONStudents will learn to appreciate the vast culture of North Indian classical music. Public speaking and research skills will be developed through oral reports. The students will listen to North Indian music recordings to reflect and analyze the inner workings of a musical culture. Students who successfully complete this course will be able to identify musical instruments, prominent musicians and scholars, philosophies, mannerisms, and musical forms found within the North Indian classical music tradition.
