Description:
This class covers fundamental aesthetic and technical principals of film production. Introductory skills in lighting, shooting, editing, and sound will be taught in conjunction with a critical and theoretical foundation of the moving image. Historical context will give students the opportunity to see contemporary film arts as they are realized in a variety of platforms including dramatic, documentary, and internet-based projects. Critical analysis of these forms will be explored through a series of student productions throughout the semester. Your words made in to moving images. Class will be a hybrid of asynchronous viewing, reading and individual assignments, as well as scheduled in-person workshops in the CCA Soundstage for hands-on instruction on lighting, staging, set protocol.Hybrid course sections will be delivered both online and in-person.
