Description:
How do our ideas about right and wrong influence how we make decisions about social issues (such as immigration or gun rights/gun control), and what are the ethical considerations connected to taking a particular stand on an issue? We will examine each step in the lifecycle of resistance to a social condition by looking at current resistances, and considering the ethical implications for the choices the resisters are making. Students will take an active role in articulating, advancing and defending claims on a variety of current issues and work as a class to explore ethical solutions to the problems we face.
